MACHINE LEARNING: Support Vector Machines Support Vector Machine (SVM) is a machine learning algorithm, mostly used for classification problems, where the objective is to extract an optimal hyperplane. SVM algorithm can be used very efficiently to solve many problems in quantitative finance. In this example we use a simple SVM algorithm to predict a stock index. Whether you are a mathematician, physicist, engineer, computer scientist, a pathologist or a financial markets professional there is no escaping machine learning. It is the future. Risk Latte Artificial Intelligence develops machine learning algorithms for a variety of use in the industry. We also teach machine learning courses to university students and industry professionals. CFE SCHOOL / CLASSES FOR EVERYONE WEEKEND QUIZ (Long Answer) Best Answer will Win Instant Prize. Deadline: 23rd July, 12:00 am EST... QUESTION: Man vs Machines. We all know that a human brain is much smarter than a computer. We can easily recite the alphabets (A, B, C, ....., Z) starting from A and go up to Z. But if we were asked to recite them backwards we stumble and find it very difficult. A computer, on the other hand, can very easily reverse a list or a series of letters in no time. It's utterly trivial for a code to do so. Does this mean that a computer is more intelligent than a human?

Today is the Pi Day. 14th March. 3.14. Everywhere that you'll look in the universe you'll find Pi, the mathematical constant, 3.14. Inside financial derivatives, quantum black holes and every single circle there is Pi. Some of the greatest minds like Newton, Euler and Ramanujan have obsessed over Pi. It baffled the ancient Greeks as much as it baffles mathematicians and computer scientists today. So let's celebrate the Pi Day!

Ever since I read Carl Sagan's Contact for the first time, I have wondered if there is anyone out there. Fermi's statement notwithstanding, I have continued to believe that Everybody is there, waiting to be found. And, I have always been a consummate believer in the notion of biological (organic) intelligence. I have tried to convince myself that AI is just another gimmick by the computer scientists. I have steadfastly held the belief that the universe if teaming with intelli...gent life, not intelligent machines. But today, I am forced to concede a point to the very same computer scientists whom I've been mocking for years. AI has become very real. I am not forced to consider the question: what if on an average and on a broader scale, intelligent machines have actually replaced intelligent life in this universe? What if Earth is the very last place in this universe where the romance of biological life still exists? How long do we have? See more
