One of the original Carrousel of the Nations villages, the Lebanese community was represented by our friends at Saint Peter's Maronite Parish Windsor at this summer’s Carrousel@Home. The Lebanese village presentation featured an exciting exhibition of dabke dance by the Phoenician Gems and a demonstration of the making of Lebanese bread. For today’s #FlashBackFriday we’re sharing this celebration of Lebanese culture... from a safe distance. Enjoy! #FBF #Carrousel #COTN #CelebrateCulture Thank you Canadian Heritage for your support of Carrousel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOyOFn66IQE
Last year our Carrousel family grew with the addition of four new Villages in Municipality of Leamington. This year, during Carrousel@Home we were overjoyed to welcome two Villages from Town of Essex - Polish Beach Club and Paglione Estate Winery. Today on #FlashBackFriday, we're sharing this summer's contribution from the Italian Village. Full warning - this WILL make you hungry. #FBF #Carrousel #CelebrateCulture Canadian Heritage https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=noTX2BIjWQ4
The Italian Village has been a part of Carrousel since its beginning in 1976 - so it's no surprise that they joined us for Carrousel@Home this summer. For today’s #FlashBackFriday we’re sharing their beautiful Italian music performance which should get you in the mood to order some of the region's best Italian food from Windsor's Via Italia on Erie Street. #ItalianVillage #Carrousel #ViaItalia #FBF https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tz-DR9BoYWA&t=1s

One of the original Carrousel villages, the Greek Orthodox Community of Windsor has endeared us for years with souvlaki, gyros, spinach pies and of course, honey balls! Always a fan favourite, the Greek village joined us for this summer’s Carrousel@Home with traditional dancing - and yes, food! Today’s #FlashBackFriday shares the highlights of the Greek Village online presentation. Warning watching will definitely make you hungry! #FBF #Opa! #GreekVillage #CelebrateCulture #Carrousel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1Kd3KVOFQU
The Hungarian Cultural Centre has been a part of Carrousel for the last 45 years. In today's #FlashBackFriday, you'll meet a volunteer that has been a dedicated member of the Carrousel of the Nations Hungarian Village since 1976. You'll also have an opportunity to enjoy some traditional Hungarian dancing. This summer's Carrousel@Home was an incredible way to celebrate Hungarian culture ... from a safe distance. The Windsor Teutonia Club was one of the first #Carrousel Villages, and for decades they have shared the festive and welcoming German culture with our community. This summer, we celebrated German culture from a safe distance as German dancers and musicians took the stage during Carrousel@Home. In 1976, the Filipino Community Centre Windsor participated in the very first Carrousel of the Nations, and since that time has devoted countless hours to sharing the beautiful traditions of the Philippines with Windsor-Essex. This summer, the Filipino community participated in Carrousel@Home by teaching us how to make the popular Filipino dish Pansit. Enjoy! #FBF #FlashBackFriday https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xJiDKoj6LcU
