New Year means another chance to make dreams come true Jennifer Donovan is about to start the New Year on the right foot. A Personal Support Worker (PSW) at Carveth Care Centre for more than seven years, Jennifer has been named the home’s Employee of the Month for January 2021. I’m honoured, she says about the award.... A resident of Escott, Jennifer has been recognized for her work assisting 104 residents in long-term care. I love it, says the friendly 27-year-old. I like getting to know the residents; making them smile and laughing with them. I always dance with the residents or sing with my horrible voice for them. As a PSW and front-line worker, Jennifer provides essential health care. It is a job that she enjoys. When she’s not at work, she likes to fish, read and spend time with friends and family. She has 10 nieces & nephews and hopes to have a family of her own someday. Asked to describe herself, she uses words such as quiet, outgoing, funny and considerate. Her personal philosophy is to treat everyone as equal. She is happy in her job and role. I’m content where I am, she confirms. Questions for Jennifer If you could have any superpower, what would it be? I’d like to cure sickness and get rid of this pandemic. If you weren’t at your current job, what would you be doing?
