Hello everyone and Happy 2021. It can only get better than last year, right? We plan to release Skymaster Down later in the spring and we'll keep you updated. ...It's only a few days into new year but we already have uncovered some amazing archival photos from the Skymaster search in the winter of 1950. On January 31, just after the Skymaster disappeared, a US Air Force C-47 search plane crashed on the flank of Mt. Lorne, just south of Whitehorse in the Yukon. The pilot, 31-year-old Lt. Charles Harden, walked six miles through waist deep snow -- with a broken ankle and his face badly injured when it hit the control panel -- to flag down a truck on the Alaska Highway. His heroics saved the lives of the five other men on board the aircraft. Our visual researcher Gina Cali managed to track down Harden's son, who provided us with amazing pictures of the crash scene - it's incredible that no one was killed. In all, four aircraft went down searching for the Skymaster but tragedy was averted and no one was killed.

2020 marked the 100th anniversary of aviation in the Yukon. To close out this aviation photography year, I'll be posting 12 images that stand out to me as I look back and remember the specific moment I pressed the shutter. Here is the first batch...I hope you enjoy them.
