2nd harvest of Lacinato Kale this year. Tuscan Kale Salad is one of my favourite ways to enjoy this Italian kale.

I grew some Japanese red perilla (akajiso ) using the Kratky hydroponic method. I decided to make some juice. I just stripped the leaves from the stems, was...hed them, then boiled the leaves in a cup of water untill they started to turn a little green, removed them from the pot, let them cool down a bit and squeezed out as much of the red liquid as possible. Return the red liquid to stove, added some sugar and a little vinegar and viola, concentrated red perilla juice. I am going to try this with a little soda water for a cool refreshing summer drink!
