Today at Casting Central we have 5 different shows/movies casting out of our Studio. Approximately 250 to 300 actors will be seen. This is very good news for all of us. The business is truly up and running. The sobering news is that NOT ONE actor will walk through our doors. They will all be seen Virtually. There will be no way to put the Genie back in the bottle. Live will return, but Virtual is here to stay. To all actors who are auditioning and to those who will be: DON’T ...BE LULLED IN TO BELIEVING THAT ANY ONE HAS FIGURED IT ALL OUT AS TO HOW THESE SESSIONS WILL BE DONE IN THE FUTURE. THE ESTHETICS AND PROTOCOLS ARE EVOLVING. THE TECHNOLOGY IS CHANGING. NOBODY CAN TELL YOU WHAT IT IS GOING TO BE ONLY WHAT IT WAS OR AT BEST WHAT IT IS TODAY. YOU MUST ALL LEARN TO ADAPT. A message from Lewis with Casting Central and the LB Acting Studio team: We never lost hope! We knew we would be back. We didn’t know when, but we knew we would be ready! Quietly behind the scenes, we were seeking advice and gathering information that would help get us all back to work safely.... At the studio we have done the following: Removed chairs Installed plexiglass Got all the PPE materials required for safe entry Mapped out an entrance and exit strategy We have gloves, masks, and a touchless thermometer to assure safety for all We will be opening for self-tapes, coach tapes, and one-on-one coaching starting this upcoming Thursday, June 18th. Our discussions with Casting and production have produced a safe way for us to bring actors in live for auditions (in limited numbers). We have run trial/mock auditions with a number of Casting Directors. We are ready! We can’t wait to see you at the studio. Our commitment to you.
