Catalyst 2020

Syntac Institute, (a non-profit organization in Calgary, Alberta that has been working in psychedelic advocacy, including launching the Catalyst Conference), together with Wayfound, a national centre for mental health, a number of private therapists, and the Canadian Psychedelic Association, are now launching a Canada-wide application for psilocybin-assisted therapy for mental health conditions. In 2020, great progress has been made with individual applications that are bein...g granted by the Federal Government which permit legal use of psilocybin in unresolved trauma, palliative care and end-of-life treatment. We believe that on the basis of the progress made to date with individual applications, that the next step is to undertake a joint group application for treatment. We are linking arms and working together with therapists and organizations across the country to demonstrate that the time is now, that the need is great, and the medicine is effective in helping people through these difficult times. The criteria for you (or if you are a therapist, for your clients) to apply, will be very simply: 1. You are a Canadian, living in Canada. 2. You are working with a qualified, registered therapist, psychologist or psychiatrist. 3. You have been actively undergoing therapy or treatment to deal with depression, anxiety or PTSD and are not finding healing through traditional therapeutic or traditional medicinal methods.
