Not the prettiest pictures but here are 3 of 8 pivot doors installed in a dentist office last week. There was a lot of planning, coordinating and preparing of materials for this 1-day install. Thanks to @woodpeckercabinetry and to Mark Peabody for helping bring this together! The functionality of the pivot hinges allow the doors to move both ways and because of this we can get them pretty tight to the walls. These doors have less than a 1/4 clearance all the way around the d...oor and about 5/8 on the bottom. The walls were luckily all plumb except for two openings which required a bit of persuasion from the track saw and router. All worked out well in the end! So here is an update on the last job. Went on vacation with the Fam then got back and had to have a 2 week staycation. Finally managed to get back on site to finish up. Unfortunately due to restrictions one of our suppliers was shut down. The piece needed from them is essential to in finishing a part of the Reno that would not look so good in a photo right now. Its never ever a good idea to take a shortcut or cheap out on structural parts of your house! Especially not structural parts! Best practice is to not cheap out at all on any part of your project. In the long run its just going to Cost you more money or in this case the new owner of this house! This is an old stairwell that has been patched up. Part of the kitchen, which is above this, has dropped around 1.5 over a span of less than 6ft. There is a similar issue on t...he exterior part of the kitchen which was added on by the previous owner as a bump out. That section dropped about 1 over 3ft. Planning is in the works to rectify the issues and leave the client with a safe house and the added bonus of a nice new kitchen. Here is another one from 2019. This was an interesting and fun project and it turned out amazing. The clients didnt have an exact idea of what they wanted to do with this space but had the tile. They also wanted to somehow incorporate the ledge stone as an accent. First there was a bit of convincing to do to move away from the thought of installing a curb and to go curb-less. In the end there was a lot of trust given which resulted in the natural stone island/bench being th...e focal point of the bathroom. This one is a fireplace reface with custom made cherry cabinetry and scalloped edge glass shelves to house the clients pieces of art that have been collected from years of travelling around the world. Working in a condo building is always a challenge, especially when trying to move pre-finished cabinets or cutting stone with a wet saw.
