5 minutes Look at the difference from his left to his right shoulder. I simply spent a little less than 5 minutes releasing his right side! Manual work can make a big difference in how you hold your body. Imagine what a full hour can do? or even better is a full hour + a few personalized online sessions to help keep you in balance after the treatment. Book your session today by going to the webpage: www.mindmattermovement.ca

Hi everyone!! I just want to take some time to officially introduce myself. My name is Catherina Amato, I am a registered massage therapist and a rehabilitation and well being specialist. I’m addicted to learning about humans, balance, and self growth. I am not the best with social media but I’m taking baby steps to get better I believe in working as a group to help clients achieve better results and I believe in collaboration even though I work for myself. So, If you ...are in the health care field then please introduce yourself. I’m often referring clients and many have insurance that covers a host of therapies. About me: I have a background in holistic nutrition and working with people with different physical and developmental abilities. I research psychology and mind/body science as a hobby. I’ve played many sports and have endured many injuries so I mean it when I say I feel ya. I spent years working in physio clinics and also working for myself. I am a certified personal trainer, I’ve taken amazing mobility courses, including FRC. I Believe in not taking life too seriously yet seeking truth and learning to function at your optimal level. You must be wondering what type of massage I do. I focus on assessing each client and looking far back into their history to understand their injuries and dysfunctions to help me have a visual of where and why areas are not moving as well. I use cupping, different types of stretch , gua sha, and many massage techniques to help mobilize tissues in areas that aren’t moving as well and which have less blood flow. Giving proper home care and client education is important to me as it empowers and helps clients to take their wellbeing into their own hands with my (and or other health care practitioner’s) support. To find out more about me please visit my webpage: www.Mindmattermovement.ca and PM me. Don’t be shy!

Tendinitis Tendinitis: Tendinitis is the inflammation of a tendon, a tough rope-like tissue that connects muscle to bone. Causes: chronic overload of the te...ndon, leading to mico-tearing and an inflammatory response in the tendon. Contributing factors: muscle imbalance, poor biomechanics, lack of flexibility, poor blood supply to the tendon, improper equipment or training errors ( in this case it is suspected to be improper footwear and foot care). *Quick video of me working through some sticky tissues along the calf using @sidekicktool while client is moving their ankle from plantar flexion into dorsiflexion. #mindmattermovement #sidekicktool #tendinitis #ottawahealthy #ottawawellness #ottawaactive #softtissuemobilization #ottawarunning

Big News at Mind Matter Movement It’s been a crazy year for ALL of us. We've all had to accept some big changes, luckily some for better. Today, I would lik...e to add to those by announcing some exciting news! Mind Matter Movement will now solely be located at our Centertown location. Although it's sad to leave behind my very first location as a business owner, and having to say goodbye to the amazing people @lbrtraining , I am stoked to show off my new space to all of you! If you haven't been to this new spot, it's a larger treatment room than before and the building offers free street parking daily and it's only a 5 minute drive from my old location. I have just opened up my schedule which was blocked off for a bit, so visit the website (www.mindmattermovement.ca) to book one of the many spots available! If you have any questions don’t be shy! Do you crave LATE NIGHT SNACKS?! It seems to be a common thing that people struggle with. You are definitely not alone in this. You may have a bigger appetite later in your day. It may be emotionally triggered by loneliness, boredom, so on. It may be that you’re not eating enough during the day, leaving you in a caloric deficit and craving more foods. Local personal trainer Matt Evan is a holistic trainer and he suggests eating a handful of nuts such as cashews or some veggie...s such as celery or kale. He recommends avoiding carbs at night and choosing foods that are high in protein, fats, or veggies. He mentioned drinking enough water during the day and perhaps distracting yourself by doing something else. Drinking a caffeine free tea and having a little bit of time for some daily reflection may be a good option for you. How do you combat late night snacking? Any tricks that work for you?

Made some Pookies. Fibre rich cookies Ingredients: A decent amount of very ripened bananas, cups of oats, dark chocolate chips, cut up dates, peanut butter, chia/flax/hemp seeds, vanilla, cinnamon, and everything else you have around that is rich in fibre and healthy. You can include eggs but not necessary. You can’t really go wrong here. Make sure the batter is a bit sticky but holds well. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.

Kimchi, sauerkraut, tempeh, miso, kombucha..what do these all have in common They are all fermented!!! Fermented foods improve the intestinal flora, thereby aiding in digestion of dense protein and carbohydrate foods. The increase in good bacteria helps the immune system by helping the body fight against infection. The bacteria in fermented foods synthesize additional enzymes and vitamins and create a more digestible amino acids balance. They are especially helpful in the sy...nthesis of vitamin B12 and B vitamins in general. Incorporating foods that promote good flora are especially good after a dose of antibiotics as it helps bring back good bacteria that may have died off in the process. Here are some jars of pickled wild leeks that I bought from a curb side sale the other day. They are not as fermented as something like sauerkraut but still hold a lot of the same properties.

Are you wondering what I’m doing here? I am about to start the process of oil pulling with coconut oil I’ve been thinking that this is a time where some people may not be able to or may not feel comfortable seeing their dentist for a while so it’s all the more important that we take care of our teeth. #1 Switching to xylitol gum can help improve and maintain gum and tooth health. #2 Oil pulling has soooo many benefits for oral health and general health Wondering ho...w to oil pull? coconut oil and sesame oil are the most popular oils used for oil pulling but you can also use other vegetable oils as well. The goal is to swoosh and/or gargle the oil in your mouth for about 15-20 minutes. This is super challenging right off the bat so start with a couple of minutes and work your way up if you can If you have any questions or would like to share some oral health care advice please let me know
