Are you working from home? Working from home has its pros and cons! You no longer have to chip the ice of that cold car at 7AM, or laugh at the office jokes you’ve heard 10 times. However, you may have difficulty starting the day or managing your time effectively leaving you feeling overwhelmed and disorganized. Working from home can have serious effects on your mental and emotional health. That being said, I recommend you take a break TOGETHER! Everyone in the house go outs...ide for 15 minutes. Breathe in the fresh air, go for a little walk around the block, talk about something other than work, build a snowman the list goes on and on. What is important is that everyone feels the release together. Working from home generally means, you don’t leave your home. This can be exhausting in and of itself. Be sure to take time for yourself and your mental health. Coffee breaks and lunch breaks are just as important in your at home office/work space. Be sure to take them!

#mealprep Meal prep can be difficult to start but can be such a helpful way to eat healthy throughout the week. Start small! Sit down and take a look at your schedule for the week. Decide things such as:... What meal(s) would you like to prep ahead of time? (i.e. breakfast, lunch, dinner) How many people are in your family? What day works best in your schedule to cook? From there you can determine how much you want to prep. I recommend starting with a 2-3 days before attempting a full 5 -day week. Often times you’ll end up cooking more than originally intended and will end up with an extra meal or two. It takes time to get the portioning just right! Once you have decided how it will all play out, you need to choose something to cook! That’s the fun part. Gather up some cookbooks and recipes and take a look through them. Pick some options everyone will love and write your grocery list. Be sure to look around the house first for items you may already have. While shopping, try to stick to that list you’ve made, keeping in mind you’ll be using the items for meal prep. This process takes time and dedication to master. The first few weeks will take extra time. Stick with it and weekly meals will become easier and healthier. Instead of running out the door and grabbing a snack bar for lunch, you will now have this well throughout meal to keep you fueled throughout the day. Do you meal prep?

Tis that season ! Fruit cake? As a kid the look of it made many of us queasy, Mom made it every year for my Dad...I never touched it. Now ..omgosh it is on my fav list of holiday treats! (a little rum butter cream sauce is quite tasty too:) and... Fruitcake is fuel! Similar to trailmix it has mounds of protein rich nuts and energy packed dried fruit . The Collin Street Bakery way down south in Texas, caters to the outdoor enthusiasts all year long....come on Northerners, give it a try!
