For us this is more than a shirt. The creation of this design was a really cool journey for us and allowed us to dig into some family history. The "Vaquero" as dubbed by us.... It was painted by local, Maxine Macleay, in 1922, when she was just 11 years old. Maxine grew up on the Rocking P Ranch west of Nanton. She is proudly recognized as the first female to graduate with a degree in Agriculture from the University of Alberta. After her studies she conducted an independent survey of Agriculture in Alberta and Saskatchewan. She went on to marry George Chattaway and had 2 children Clay and Carrol. The Chattaway family still resides and ranches west of Nanton. We are so proud of the western roots and heritage that resides in Nanton and area. This shirt is a small tribute and celebration of that lifestyle and the people that made this community as rich as it is. We are honored to have the opportunity to feature her original painting on our shirt. This shirt is available in forest green, for the adults and Navy for the kiddos. Thanks again Alexi and Ty for modelling this shirt for us. #cattlemenscorner #feedstoreandmore #nanton #customtees #vaquero #apparel #shoplocal #shopnanton
Feed Feature FRIDAY!! Breeder Mineral It is important to start your breeder mineral at least 3 months out from calving to have a positive impact on your herd. ... Why is this supplement important? 1:1 Ratio High Nutrient content High in phosphorous High in Magnesium Phosphorous at breeding time may increase conception and calving rate. Increased levels of Magnesium helps combat Grass tetany which can affect all classes of cattle, but older cows with calves at foot during winter and spring are most at risk. Very thin and overly fat animals are also more susceptible, as are Angus cattle and their crosses. *** Breeder mineral can continued and encouraged to be fed throughout the breeding/pasture period as well ***
