MUDRA FOR PROTECTING YOUR HEALTH We invest a lot of time and money into health supplements, nutritious food, holistic treatments, exercise equipment and so many more things to help us maintain good health. All of these are important components in a well balanced health regime, but what about our energy field? Every living thing has a subtle layer of energy that extends beyond the physical body. This energy layer acts as a bubble of protection, and at times may become stagna...nt. If not removed, these energy blockages can manifest into physical ailments. You can encourage the natural flow of energy around and within the body by practicing Mudras. Mudras are ancient hand gestures that promote the flow of Prana (life force energy) throughout the 72, 000 Nadis (meridians) to promote good health. Sit in a comfortable position with your spine as straight as possible. Bend your right elbow and lift your hand up, palm facing out. Raise your index and middle fingers together upwards toward the sky, the rest are tucked inside the palm. Hold your left hand in the same Mudra with the 2 stretched fingers pointing at your heart. Close your eyes and focus on your Heart Centre Your breath is long, slow and deep. You may silently repeat the Universal Mantra OM as you hold this Mudra in intervals of 3 for 3 minutes. YOGA SCHEDULE UPDATE OM BEAUTIFUL YOGIS, Due to the ever changing situation with Covid, we have decided to postpone all Kirtan & Satsang events until further notice. It was a difficult decision as we know how much these gatherings mean to each and every one of you ... As we enter the Red Zone tomorrow, we will need to decrease the numbers of students practicing to 4 during one class. This will allow for the 3 metres of distancing between mats. MUDRA FOR RELAXATION & JOY Unconditional Love and Bliss is our birthright, so why are we not happy and fulfilled? We are conditioned to seek happiness outside of ourselves by acquiring things we don’t really need. These unhealthy behaviours are called Samskaras, and have been imprinted into our minds by our culture, experiences and belief systems. Look within and you will find what you seek! Practicing Yoga encourages us to explore these habits and replace limiting patterns... with healthier ones. Sit in a comfortable position with your spine as straight as possible. Make a fist with your left hand, tucking your thumb inside. Wrap your right hand gently around the left and place your right thumb over the base of the left thumb. Close your eyes and focus on your Third Eye Centre. Silently repeat the Universal Mantra OM, your breath is long, slow and deep. Feel an immense sense of peace, relaxation and joy pour over your Third Eye and enter into the Heart Centre.
