We are so excited that Ontario is beginning to roll out the COVID-19 vaccine to healthcare workers, including to our frontline home health staff! Joselito Gerardo, a CBI Health Personal Support Worker in Toronto, and Jessica Cloutier, a CBI Health Nurse in Ottawa, are seen here receiving their vaccinations. We are incredibly grateful that our staff are beginning to receive the vaccine in Ontario, and we’re looking forward to having our staff vaccinated in other provinces.
Lyelle Ducoy, an incredible psychotherapist we’ve had the honour of having on our team at CBI Health, has had a tremendous impact on the hearts and lives of both our clients and staff through the years. As she continues her battle in a second round of recovery through cancer, our team rallied together to create a special message for her. We’re all behind you Lyelle! #LyelleStrong #RiseAbove
Sending out warm wishes to all this holiday season. We hope everyone has a healthy, safe, and happy new year!
Building compassion and trust is important to our team to help clients feel comfortable and at ease as they receive care at home. In this Connected Care Story, one of our personal support workers found a creative and unique way to spark joy in her client’s life and provide support to her family caregiver while she was waiting to be accepted into long-term care. We’re excited to announce that one of our community-based healthcare programs has been recognized in multiple categories of the Priority Health Innovation Challenge, led by the Canadian Foundation for Healthcare Improvement (CFHI). With so many caregivers experiencing emotional distress and uncertainty, Care for the Caregiver aims to support these individuals with mental wellness resources and regular check-ins with healthcare professionals, to ensure they feel heard, valued and connected. The program is designed for all essential family caregivers, whether they are caring for children, seniors, or any family member or friend. We’re grateful for the opportunity to showcase this program, and honoured to receive these innovation awards!
Diabetes increases the risk for many types of health complications, but the effects can be reduced with proper management and monitoring from caregivers. We offer programs and services to support Canadians who are dealing with #diabetes, and our nurses and therapists can help them through various means, from support programs to health monitoring. Today on #WorldDiabetesDay, we are celebrating our professional staff across the country who are helping people manage and cope with their diabetes. We truly appreciate all the hard work you are doing to make sure our clients continue to receive safe care.

With many Canadians unable to say goodbye to their loved ones due to COVID-19 restrictions, many people have not had the chance to visit their families and have a proper funeral or celebration of life. We warmly invite everyone to the #SayingGoodbye Concert, hosted by the Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association an online concert and a collective coming together to support Canadians who have lost loved ones during the pandemic. Join us on November 15th at 7pm for a heartfelt night of music to honour those who are experiencing grief in this time. Tanya, a #physiotherapist in BC, told us a memorable story she had about a client who came to visit her with intense shoulder pain. After helping her with stretches, exercises, and pain management, the client was able to regain movement and continue doing the things she loves. For Tanya, being able to see the smile on her clients’ faces after they recover is why she became a physiotherapist. Watch her story: https://youtu.be/vDW4NAuSEw4
