We’re excited to announce that one of our community-based healthcare programs has been recognized in multiple categories of the Priority Health Innovation Challenge, led by the Canadian Foundation for Healthcare Improvement (CFHI). With so many caregivers experiencing emotional distress and uncertainty, Care for the Caregiver aims to support these individuals with mental wellness resources and regular check-ins with healthcare professionals, to ensure they feel heard, valued and connected. Mental health and well-being is a core pillar of CBI Health’s integrated approach to healthcare. It is important to have open, honest conversations about mental health, and to start these conversations early. To help with these conversations about mental health in youth, we are proud to support Buddy Check for Jesse, a program that encourages coaches to talk with their teams about ending the stigmas surrounding mental health. This year the program has expanded to include all coached sports, all-year-round, all across the country. While some sports are currently on hold due to the pandemic, if you know a youth in organized sports, please make their coach and/or manager aware of this program. You can find conversation guides and support materials as a free download on their website: https://bit.ly/2HLHknp
