On #WorldOccupationalTherapyDay, we celebrate all of our incredible Occupational Therapists and the important work they do every day. Throughout the pandemic, they continue to support the mental health and well-being of our clients across Canada, and enable them to reach the health goals that matter to them. This year in particular, we also had the pleasure of working with numerous university students, providing them with practical work experience and helping them kick start their careers in this rewarding profession. Our Occupational Therapists are making a meaningful, lasting difference in our clients’ lives every day, and we’re proud to see what they’ll continue to achieve!

With many Canadians unable to say goodbye to their loved ones due to COVID-19 restrictions, many people have not had the chance to visit their families and have a proper funeral or celebration of life. We’re excited to announce that one of our community-based healthcare programs has been recognized in multiple categories of the Priority Health Innovation Challenge, led by the Canadian Foundation for Healthcare Improvement (CFHI). With so many caregivers experiencing emotional distress and uncertainty, Care for the Caregiver aims to support these individuals with mental wellness resources and regular check-ins with healthcare professionals, to ensure they feel heard, valued and connected. The program is designed for all essential family caregivers, whether they are caring for children, seniors, or any family member or friend. We’re grateful for the opportunity to showcase this program, and honoured to receive these innovation awards!
