COVID-19 UPDATE Consolidated Civil Enforcement continues to be open during COVID-19 and we are here to help you with your Civil Enforcement needs. We recognize ...the need to be sensitive to the challenges individuals and businesses are facing during the massive shutdown of business and employment. At the same time we want you to know that our civil enforcement, sale of land, residential tenancies and process service groups continue to be fully operational. The following is a list of important information or changes that may affect you: The Edmonton office is not staffed every day, but is checked a few times a week for mail and deliveries. New seizure documents or other documents requiring immediate attention, should be emailed to [email protected], faxed to 780 448-0698 or couriered to the Calgary office. The Calgary office continues to be open from 8:00 to 5:00. Evictions for non-payment can once again be enforced as the government stay was lifted May 1, 2020. Waiting periods for seizure objections, sale notices, and distribution notices have been put on hold by the Government of Alberta until June 2 2020. You can still seize, but you won’t be able to have the goods sold or funds distributed until after the waiting periods expire sometime in late June. If you have questions about this, please feel free to call. Registrations at PPR nothing has changed. Writ of Enforcement and Security Agreement registrations continue to have a 30-day grace period to reregister should they expire. Garage Keepers’ Liens cannot be renewed without a court order which may be difficult to obtain because of limitations on court services being provided. The other way to protect your Garage Keepers’ lien is to a do a seizure before the lien expires.
