Would you like a glimpse into what life was like before cell phones or for that matter the telephone in general. In this book "Five Score and More - Reflections of a Centenarian" read about the lives of Cumberland County residents as told by themselves or those close to them. A sample as told by Minnie Dawson a lifelong resident of the River Hebert area reminisced on her life. Minnie has passed now as have many of those who found their way to the pages of this book but their stories live on. Copies are available for sale - please visit "http://www.ccgsns.com/five-score-and-more-reflections-of-a/"

Are you a Cumberland County researcher.... CCGS has recently reprinted this book and are sure if you don't own it you won't be disappointed. A bit about the book: In 1759 Nova Scotia was divided into five countiesAnnapolis, Cumberland, Halifax, Kings, and Lunenburg. In Cumberland County in 2009, as part of the 250th anniversary celebrations, the Cumberland County Genealogical Society and its members started a project of recording on Family Group Sheets early settlers of t...his county who were born on or before 1785. While a few families have been published in family histories, usually there is no hint as to the sources of the information. CCGS believes that knowing and sharing the exact source of a piece of information helps a researcher and others decide its potential value as evidence. 249 pages - indexed and sourced. If you are interested in obtaining a copy please visit "http://www.ccgs.ednet.ns.ca/" and look under the product tab.
