Join pediatric nurse Cheryl Marr and maternity nurse Maria Fyfe as they host a workshop about their respective specialties on Thursday January 21 at 1900. This workshop will help you better understand the role of a nurse in each specialty, answer commonly asked questions, and allow you the opportunity to ask your own questions about each specialty. Students will be encouraged to bring their questions and have opportunities to ask them via mic and camera, chat function, or via the anonymous white board. Join the NSMP with special guest Tess Wosniak, RN MSN and associate chair of the BSN program, as she discusses mental health and coping. This is a specifically timed event, as we understand the stress all students are under as we near the end of semester and want to provide students with information and strategies to best care for themselves, as well as have conversations that destigmatize mental health. The NSMP is hosting another workshop! The workshop will discuss the ways in which health care professionals can provide safe care the LGBTQIA2S+ patients. Our guest speaker will be Kristen McLaughlin, the Camosun BSN year 2 program lead. The workshop will be hosted on Zoom on November 17th at 7pm. Hello everyone, the NSMP is hosting several workshops this November. And the first one we're presenting is "The Dual Health Crisis: The nurses role in harm reduction". Our guest speaker is Corey Ranger, a registered nurse and passionate advocate for pragmatic public policy. Corey is the Clinical Nurse Lead for the Victoria SAFER project, as well as a project consultant for BC campus and the Provincial Peer Training Curriculum Project. Interested in brushing up on your APA, come and join our online work shop! Tessa Wonsiak is an amazing nurse and instructor and she will be presenting easy APA and myths of academic writing.
