Ever heard of Amber Valley? Until a few weeks ago, neither did many members of our team - There's still so much to learn about Canadian history! Check out this video about the history of Black Settlers in Alberta and Saskatchewan: https://vimeo.com/257364347. Amber Valley is one of these settlements. Hearing these personal stories helps us dig deeper into the rich and diverse history across this country. It also shows how the church for many Black communities were a religious... and spiritual space for some, while being a central community space for others - a reminder that religious institutions can have different meanings for different people. #religiousliteracy #BlackHistoryMonth #ambervalley Shiloh Centre For Multicultural Roots
