Initiatives from organizations like the @TorontoArtsCouncil are calling on the Federal Government to support #BasicIncomeGuarantee (different from universal basic income). Fill out the federal Pre-Budget Questionnaire to contribute your voice to the initiative! The questionnaire is open until Feb 19. Uprooted - The Journey of Dance is a feature-length documentary celebrating the history, lineage, and future progressions of jazz dance. Exploring and commenting on political and social influences, the film is an honest conversation about jazz dance addressing topics such as appropriation, racism, socialism, and sexism. Uprooted is premiering in Canada as part of the Toronto Black Film Festival - TBFF, Canada’s largest celebration of Black History Month through film, running ...February 10-21, 2021.
