This clarification includes dancers with other children's sports and activities, and allows them to train alongside gymnasts, hockey players, and others. We look forward to other Public Health Units adopting these measures. ******************************************************** As you are aware, on October 9th, the province announced additional public health measures for Toronto, Ottawa and Peel Region. As we und...erstand that there has been confusion regarding how the new measures outlined in O. Reg 572/20 affect dance studios, we offer the following for the purpose of clarification. Dance studios in Peel may remain open if they comply with the following conditions: Only individual training (i.e. conditioning, strength training and skill development) for team members is provided. Classes that involve group dances and/or choreography are not permitted. The total number of members of the public permitted to be in a class, organized program or organized activity at the facility cannot exceed 10 people and each class, organized program or organized activity must take place in a separate room. No spectators are permitted. Any person who enters or uses the facility must maintain a physical distance of at least two metres from any other person who is using the facility. Activities that are likely to result in individuals coming within two metres of each other must not be practised or played within the facility. Any locker rooms, change rooms, showers and clubhouses in the facility must be closed, except to the extent they provide access to equipment storage, a washroom or a portion of the facility that is used to provide first aid. Any equipment that is rented to, provided to or provided for the use of users of the facility must be cleaned and disinfected between each use. Activities that require the use of equipment or fixed structures that cannot be cleaned and disinfected between each use must not be practised or played within the facility. Only individual training (i.e. conditioning, strength training, and skill development) for team members is provided, activities and allows them to train alongside gymnasts, hockey players, and others. The safety and health of our dancers is at the forefront of our intentions. Please note that our studio has COVID safety protocols in place. This means in addition to rigorous cleaning practices, physical distancing, mask wearing when distancing is a challenge and smaller class sizes are also in place.
