At CDC, the safety of our patients is our top priority so we are now offering the capability of booking your X-ray in advance. We still welcome walk-ins at all of our clinics but a patient or referrer can also call the CDC clinic they are wanting to book with directly. This will help minimize the amount of time a patient waits in the clinic for the appointment making it safer for the patients. We have restarted screening mammography services at our CDC clinics located across Alberta. Screening mammography substantially reduces rates of advanced and fatal breast cancers, as recommended in a May 2020 article published in Cancer on behalf of the American Cancer Society.
