November 8th - 14th is MRT Week. MRT Week is a chance for all MRTs to celebrate and recognize professional accomplishment, and a wonderful opportunity to educate the public and healthcare colleagues about their profession and the essential role they play in medical imaging and therapeutic treatment. We've got some exciting news to share with you...CDC is expanding! CDC Savanna will be our 17th clinic and is located in northeast Calgary. More information to come on opening date, services and hours.

At CDC, the safety of our patients is our top priority so we are now offering the capability of booking your X-ray in advance. We still welcome walk-ins at all of our clinics but a patient or referrer can also call the CDC clinic they are wanting to book with directly. This will help minimize the amount of time a patient waits in the clinic for the appointment making it safer for the patients. We have restarted screening mammography services at our CDC clinics located across Alberta. Screening mammography substantially reduces rates of advanced and fatal breast cancers, as recommended in a May 2020 article published in Cancer on behalf of the American Cancer Society. On April 6, 2018, Canadians were heartbroken to hear the news of the Humboldt Broncos bus crash. Of the 29 passengers, sixteen lost their lives and thirteen will all bear physical and emotional scars for life. On April 7, 2018, Humboldt Broncos defenceman, Logan Boulet succumbed to his injuries, his parents, Bernadine and Toby Boulet offered to donate his organs so that six lives could live on.
