Take a look at one of our ways we like to prepare for peonies to bloom!! We stake peonies to keep them gorgeous!! Even through the heavy rains they will stay standing strong and you won’t have to deal with trying to fix anything throughout the season!! Just continue to add and move the bamboo rods up into the higher holes as they grow. What you will need:... Wooden stakes, bamboo rods and a drill with a 1 bit please check to see the size of bamboo rods to confirm the size of the drill bit needed. This can change as bamboo rod sizes are different. 1.To figure out how many stakes you need. Go into the gardens a count out how many peonies you need to stake. You will need a minimum of 2 stakes per peony. If you have larger plants then it is a good idea to use 4 stakes on each plant. (Position one going though the centre of the peonies and one though the front)-This will help separate the foliage and allow the flowers to drop in all directions giving a wonderful balance showing. Figuring it how many bamboo rods- get 2 to 3 bamboo rods for each stake set. It’s never a bad idea to have a few extra on hand. 2.The next step is to measure out where you need to drill your holes along the stakes. This can be done in groups of 2 stakes to save you some time. Use a pencil to mark on one of the stakes. The first hole should be 1.5 from the top of the stake and then leave 3 between every hole after that going down the stakes to just over halfway down. Continue this process for all other groups of 2 stakes that you have. 3. Once you have marked all of the stakes out you can go ahead and drill them out. The drill bit should be around 1.5 to make the holes easy for the bamboo rods to glide through when you need to change the height the holes should not be tight to the rods. So check to see the size of your bamboo rods to confirm what size bit you will need as they do come in sooo many different sizes. 4.Finally you are ready to install! Use a rough measurement to line up the stakes on either side of the peonies. Hold the stake and use a rubber mallet to gently drive the stake into the ground as shown in the photos we posted for guidance. If you have a larger plant then repeat this process in the middle of the peonies for extra support. 5. Now that your stakes are in, you are ready to slide the bamboo rods through at your lowest holes. Remember to continually check and add... move the bamboo rods up as the peonies grow! I like to use 2 to 3 bamboo rods for each peony stake system to work effectively. Happy gardening

Our maintenance team has been working so hard over the past month opening all of our wonderful clients properties. Yesterday we were so excited to see some of our clients beautiful spring blooms!! It was such a great day to get all of the plants and lawn fertilized! Remember that your gardens need to be fed too!!... Fertilizer treatments are just as important for the plants as they are for your lawn!
