Following the new announcement from the government of Manitoba, we must temporarily close our exhibition for the next 3 weeks starting on November 11th at midni...ght. The good news is that we will be extending the exhibition to December 31st. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon. IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL TICKET HOLDERS All tickets will be rescheduled to December. If you receive an email saying your tickets have been cancelled please note that we will be reissuing tickets for you at a later date and you will receive your new tickets by email soon. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we navigate these scheduling changes. From the entire team at Imagine Van Gogh we hope you stay healthy and safe during this time and we will see you soon! ----- Van Gogh was sent to hospital in March 1889 after mutilating his ear. In a letter to Theo his brother, Vincent squeezed in his last words, ending with an enigmatic query: It’s perhaps a sort of quarantine I’m being put through. What do I know?

It is our tendency in daily life to become goal oriented. We know where we want to go, and we are very focused on getting there. At times, this may be useful, but often we forget to enjoy ourselves along the way. - Thich Nhat Hanh Painting: Vu Nhu Hai #Mindfulness #ThichNhatHanhGems

Admin, (by Marina Cruz), please delete if you consider is not appropriate. Hi everybody. First, I will give you a little intro to our COVID situation in Argentina. We are on our 164-day lockdown, Yes we have been inside since 03/20/20... Our borders both international and domestic are close We are only allowed to go out for groceries and we just got allowed to have a meeting with friends and family but only on open spaces We are not allowed to ride public transport unless you can get permission as an essential worker, which is only a small amount of population. On one of the last report from the Minister of health, they recommend not to talk, laugh, or sing cause will spread the virus. Cases are rising every day anyway. My question is any other country been following any of these restrictions or recommendations. Pic is just for attention and to remind me this will pass and we will travel again.ns from real people no what I can see on TV on the internet. Thank you in advance for your help Please stay safe. Pic is just for attention and to remind me this will pass and we will travel again. See more

IN XANADA DID OUR FRINGE GANG MANY PLEASURES... ... I met a man from an antique land, who said... I dreamt of an artist who’d been good I dreamt of an artist who’d been so very very good His Karma came calling And whisked him away To Artists’ Heaven, Performers' Paradise In the vast flat land Many days’ ride beyond the inland seas Beyond the land of the Screaming Bald Eagles Where the Red meets the Muddy and Come the Ides of Julian The sun shines as the heat rises While freshening faces rise from far and near Till the earth blooms with streams of human colour Who throng and teem and gleefully home in, unerring Upon the fabled Zone of TransPortage The Fringe Where the envigored hordes race To see shows by savage clowns To hear unbodied queens harangue their horrible king To watch fools helter-skelter their innermost ventricles As selves are exchanged for new Face muscles are flexed, flexed and flexed again Armour and shackles are thrown off And lost youth is refound Ahhh yes, come summer, That Sceptered Isle In the boundless green ocean Beyond the Big Rock Candy Mountain, Where houses are packed And rafters are raised, And the air is filled with gasps and laughter Where wisdom and clowning are received with equal joy Where strange accents are strangely, warmly welcome And some speak in a curious tongue, unknown further south, Called "Iroh-knee", or "Saht-iya" Where shows ask fewer coin than anywhere else And where, No matter how truly new and wild and bold the shows How low or high the art How tragic or comedic the tales Audiences, young and old, yes young and old Want to witness, and will give for the seeing Ahhh yes, ahhh bliss, ahhh bless Sweet innocent morning again Where new faces, new tales, new styles, new forms, Will quake bodies and shake heads And roll bodies in the aisles Yet be for only 3000 quick instants, And never be heard from ever again Where poets fill every seat in but five minutes ... <> Yet I bear not false witness For I speak here of the Days of Fring In the City of the iPegs And they do things most different there For poets do sell-out places called "hundred seaters" in five minutes <> Verily, yes, tis far away, Beyond the borders of the New Roman Empire Tis way beyond even the Far Go Is amidst the all-water-to-come, In the northland, Xanada, Tis a flat land, stretching to high wonders Where the VeryFriendly People are even Friendlier Where artists need no coin for lodging Where delights are undisneyed Comedy uncorporate And unpossible yarns are spun Through geriatric wards and Atlantic depths New York chat-rooms and uptown ice-rinks Where cross-dressing Caledonian pipers and six-string Floridans Serenade buffooning Hitchcocks, Austens and Poes Across Normandy beach and African Veldt Where grown men giggle themselves beyond the silly Where the pressures of a hard life are replaced By the pleasures of life And the parties reach far into the enfolding shroud of the night ... But alas, it seems iPeg City, The happiest dappiest Lalaland of blithest July This hallowed performers' powwow Is not a nirvana eternal For indeed, it shines bright but twelve days For, like Brigadoon, it is not always there And at many times this land is a cold dark place Where the hatless perish like leaves in the fire And the forlorn can be found as wraiths wandering the icy wastes Mourning the ineffable glories of sweetest summer When, like a mirage from the grassy plains From where the green meets the blue The circus wagon-train of earthly delights did appear And did wend their Westward way Into the place of Exchange Where the thousands they flocked, by the ten And much merriment was had And much laughter was heard And much was learnt And the spirits, stronger, did steel themselves for winter For no time lasts forever, And the wagon train must move on To other fields and other faces, Other trials and other triumphs ... Some say it leaps on From concrete atoll to concrete atoll Across the Sea Of Green Others that it snakes on to the City of The Sasks Yet others say it doesn’t exist That our halcyon Fringtime in the City of the iPegs Those twelve fast fevered days of unpossible figments Is but an intense dream born of the intense longing Of thousands in their most vivid and fervent imaginings And is not real And cannot be ... And some say it is just a dream bereft of any real Is just the crude exchange Of coin for time Yet these do not know And have not been or seen Or felt The generosities From the stage, and to the stage The swelling hearts The excited eyes The bonds of friendship The group discovery The collective hysteria The mass enjoyment ... And yet we, We happy many, We who were there We who saw and felt And gasped and cried And laughed We who danced And we who watched We know ... ... ... ... ... blimey i wish was in winnipeg while this? Gokarna? India? was a pretty much paradisic way to pass global lockdowntime pre-monsoon and its not at all bad, still now the rainy season has hit Karnataka yet how i wish i was in Winnipeg right now so here is a poem published in the Winnipeg Free Press in 2004-ish, and up dated for 2013 its the only poem i've ever truly sought publication for ... ... ... this was a rewrite of a poem i was commissioned to write for the Free Press in 2004 by Kevin Prokosh and then redid for 2013 i've edited it a tad ... the day after it first came out was my best ever day in Canada people were EXTREMELY nice to me one young woman said her father had read it out to the whole family at sunday lunch and they all cried at the end ... i hope you like it ... jem most fitting most fitting #wpgfringe

From the animal shelter: You cannot, I repeat you CANNOT get coronavirus FROM YOUR PETS! People are dumping their animals at shelters out of ignorance and fear-please please post this on your page. Don’t share it from my page, that limits the number of people that will see it. Please re-post this on your page and get the word out before more animals are abandoned. We are preparing for an onslaught of cats at a time when we are not able to adopt them out. Not to mention it’s kitten season, and we’re not able to take them either. Please help. ANIMALS WILL DIE BECAUSE OF THIS IGNORANCE.

Tick Life cycle

Georgina Rheaume 06.05.2020

Tick-borne diseases like Lyme disease are preventable! Tick-borne diseases are serious, but they’re also entirely preventable if you take the appropriate precautions. We recommend preventive medication for your dog, appropriate clothing and bug spray for you, staying on trails and keeping your dog on a leash, doing tick checks after you’ve been outdoors and removing ticks from your pet as soon as you find one (even if he/she is on preventive medication). It can take as little... as 24 hours for the black-legged tick to transmit the bacterium that causes Lyme disease if it’s carrying it, so the sooner you remove any ticks, the better. If you find a tick on your dog, we can run a quick blood test to check for exposure to disease. We’ve run the numbers, and it’s less expensive to prevent transmission of Lyme disease for a full year than it is to treat it. And because we worry about Lyme nephritis (a rare but typically fatal complication of Lyme disease that affects kidneys) and we still don’t know enough about subclinical & long-term effects of the disease, your best bet is to take appropriate steps to avoid disease transmission.

UPDATE: Protecting Yourself & Your Dog From Ticks March is National Tick Awareness Month! It’s not the beginning of tick season per se (there is no official season where ticks are concerned), but rather the time of year Canadian veterinarians revisit the subject of ticks knowing that people & their pets will be spending more time outdoors as Spring approaches. Our complete primer on ticks follows, but here’s a summary of key points that are top of mind. Tick activity is tem...perature-driven, not seasonal. Any day it’s 4C or higher (or to be on the safe side, let’s say above freezing [0 C]), ticks come out of hiding in search of a meal. We’ve been monitoring weather patterns for a number of years now, & it’s become clear that while the weather is unpredictable, you can count on ticks being active through the winter. Take this winter, for example. One day, the temperature went from a balmy 11.8C to a frigid -6.9C within a week in mid-January. Almost 90% of January saw temperatures above 0 C and almost 20% of the month saw temperatures above 4 C. The calendar below shows that there was potential for plenty of tick activity in the dead of winter. Ticks cause Lyme disease in people. Note: It’s still the case that nation- & province-wide, about 1 in 5 deer ticks carry "Borrelia burgdorferi".But in certain areas where these ticks have been established for a number of years, as many as 40% of them carry Borrelia. (The longer ticks are established in an area, the higher the level of disease in those tick populations. (i.e.Kenora) As more information becomes available about the numbers of ticks carrying Borrelia in our area, we’ll keep you posted, but in the meantime, you can assume that at least 20% of our deer ticks are carrying the bacterium.- from the Royal York Animal Hospital, Etobicoke, Ontario

~Silver~ "How many years of beauty do I have left? she asks me.... How many more do you want? Here. Here is 34. Here is 50. When you are 80 years old and your beauty rises in ways your cells cannot even imagine now and your wild bones grow luminous and ripe, having carried the weight of a passionate life. When your hair is aflame with winter and you have decades of learning and leaving and loving sewn into the corners of your eyes and your children come home to find their own history in your face. When you know what it feels like to fail ferociously and have gained the capacity to rise and rise and rise again. When you can make your tea on a quiet and ridiculously lonely afternoon and still have a song in your heart Queen owl wings beating beneath the cotton of your sweater. Because your beauty began there beneath the sweater and the skin, remember? This is when I will take you into my arms and coo YOU BRAVE AND GLORIOUS THING you’ve come so far. I see you. Your beauty is breathtaking. ~ Jeannette Encinias

Dachshund Aggression. The dachshund may take the number one spot in aggression but that does not mean that the dog cannot be trained. ... Dachshunds were bred to hunt badgers, so naturally they are genetically predisposed to be aggressive. They do not take kindly to strangers and can be very nasty to anyone who visits.

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, ESV). First Thessalonians 5:17, however, not only provided me with 5 cents but with a question. The text says, Pray without ceasing. ... The Greek word for without ceasing in 1 Thessalonian 5:17 is adialeiptos, which doesn't mean nonstop but actually means constantly recurring.
