Introducing Lori Clark who works in the Summerside office: I wasn’t looking for a new gig when the opportunity to become an ins...tructor at Career Bridges presented itself a little over 3 years ago. I had spent several years as a prenatal coordinator working with new parents and babies (an easy crowd!) and was terrified to switch gears to help and guide clients seeking new career directions. It soon became apparent that there is something special about Career Bridges. As an instructor you provide an invaluable service and you wear many hats. You earn the trust of your clients and become part of their support system as they navigate through the program, opening themselves up to new possibilities and watching them blossom as they realize their self-worth. It is an amazing feeling and something I don’t take lightly. It is such a privilege to be part of our clients journey towards career satisfaction and a happy life. If you are thinking about making a change, now is the time to do it...don’t waste another day. I think it was Wayne Gretzky who said You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take. Lori can be reached at [email protected] or through Facebook Messenger. See more

Excellent summary of the Canada Emergency Response Benefit copied from (MP for Egmont) Bobby Morrissey's Facebook page: " : Our Government announced earlier today the new Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB). The CERB will provide $500 per week for up to 16 weeks to those who are employed or self-employed and have lost their source of income due to COVID-19.... ... I lost my job because of COVID-19 whether full-time, contract, or self-employed. I’m sick or quarantined, or looking after someone sick. I’ve exhausted my EI benefits, or am close to doing so, and cannot return to work due to COVID-19. I’m still employed, but not receiving income due to this crisis. I’m a working parent who must stay home without pay to care for my children at home due to school or daycare closures. I’m a wage earner, contract worker, or self-employed individual who wouldn’t otherwise be eligible for EI. - If you’ve already applied for EI on or after March 15th, you will automatically receive the CERB. Your full EI benefit remains unaffected by the CERB, and will be processed as soon as possible. Canadians who have already applied for EI and whose application has not yet been processed would not need to reapply. The EI system was not designed to process the unprecedented high volume of applications received in the past week. Given this situation, all Canadians who have ceased working due to COVID-19, whether they are EI-eligible or not, would be able to receive the CERB to ensure they have timely access to the income support they need. ’ Canadians who are already receiving EI regular and sickness benefits would continue to receive their benefits and should not apply to the CERB. However, if your EI benefits end before October 3, 2020, you can apply for the CERB once your EI benefits cease, if you’re unable to return to work due to COVID-19. The online application process is expected to open in early April. Canadians would begin to receive their CERB payments within 10 days of application. The CERB would be paid every four weeks and be available from March 15, 2020 until October 3, 2020."
