It’s that time of year. Colder weather means space heaters are being plugged in at the office or home. Keep in mind a power bar won’t cut it for a space heater. A wall outlet, ideally a dedicated receptacle is the way to go. http://www.fox2detroit.com//heres-why-you-dont-plug-space-

It’s something that often gets missed does your roof flange look like this? Unsecured and no waterproofing. Chances are water is getting in through this hole to your attic. Some electricians believe waterproofing the flange is the builder’s job. At CDW, we take responsibility for any hole we cut in a building and ensure water doesn’t penetrate. If your flange is secured and water proofed properly, you would see water proofing around the metal flange and shingles. A recent client had water reach all the way to his basement apartment because the flange was not secured or waterproofed. It was a big mess a costly and frustrating repair that could have been avoided.

Happy to return some support to The Johnson GEO CENTRE as a sponsor of The Science of Wine last night. We did a complete lighting retrofit on this unique, architecturally complex building. We also partnered with Centinel Services to complete a heating & cooling upgrade. These energy efficient upgrades are saving the GEO $2,000 a month in electricity costs: https://takechargenl.ca/nature-technology-meet/ The Science of Wine raises funds to help the Johnson GEO CENTRE continue its great work of fostering curiosity in science & the world around us.
