Lessons will be starting Sept 1 with physical distancing and time between lessons for cleaning. Available half-hour time slots are Tuesdays 1:45 or 2:30 Wednesdays 2:00, Thursdays 3:00 or 3:30. Lessons are $20, preferably paid on the first lesson of the month. Call or text 250 202 1227.

I've set up my music studio for September so that I will have room for physical distancing. The two keyboards will allow me to demonstrate on one keyboard while students use the other keyboard. Guitar students will have plenty of space. I will allow time between lessons to sanitize doorknobs, rails, keyboards and music stands. I will give the option of sending notes by email or having students write their own notes. I will have freshly laundered masks available and hand towels for myself and students.

Acoustic piano? Small keyboard? Full-size digital piano? What is the point of a pedal? A piano teacher may have given you the advice to buy a full size acoustic piano or one with weighted keys and at least one pedal. You may argue that you don’t know if your child will continue playing, and that they may give up in 6 months, so if you just buy a small keyboard first, you’ll see if they stick with it.
