Always great getting mail, especially when it's from Unit Editions. Sneak preview tape is a nice touch.

New toys showed up at the studio today. Come by for coffee if you're in the hood!

At Cedar, we easily avoid unproductive meetings. It's simple: employ only 2 people and meet periodically during the day for short amounts of time... that should work for others, right?

Old hand lettering near the studio. The building was built in 1908, but not sure when the lettering was done. Anyone know? Found some interesting details on the building here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/laniwurm/3824967083/

May have to pick up a copy of Typotheque's new interactive type specimen. You can create over 10,000 type combinations; just swipe to change the typeface! https://vimeo.com/94385079

"Infographics are useful for three things: disseminating complex information in easy-to-understand visual forms, helping visually-minded types to remember stats, and making fun of infographics." These are worth a laugh: http://www.shortlist.com//brilliant-truth-facts-infographi Thanks for sharing Sarah!

Think about the packaging you usually see on the shelves of your drug store when buying headache medicine, allergy pills, bandages, etc. They all kind of blend together in a mish mash of clutter and information. Pearlfisher. did a brand identity refresh for help remedies, a drug company that promises you less, which included some wicked packaging. We're seeing more and more brands strip away the clutter (and the ingredients in some cases) to focus on what's really important. As the founder of Help Remedies said, "...it communicates everything we have to say without having to spell it out, literally."

Stock photography sites are a real painthat's not news to anyone, we know. Of course, it depends on what you're searching for (objects vs people). Regardless, they're a huge time suck, and trying to find genuine emotion and the right mood can be a real challenge. If you cry a little when stock photography is your only option on a modest budget, try Stocksy United. The quality of their selection is way beyond what we're used to, and have come in handy on a number of projects already. Check them out!

Love this print campaign for Casa Di Conti's premium beer by McCann Brazil. Great use of comparison while keeping the design simple and typographic. The cactus one really made me chuckle! K
