Hope everyone is doing well :) A friendly reminder...

My first...(and possibly last lol) wood spirit. 2.5 ft tall out of a red cedar chunk. I started carving him off and on 4 years ago whenever I had time. I started him when the wildfires started, there was devastation and mother nature was pissed. I felt all the pain on many levels and this was how I processed all of that pain. This piece taught me a lot. You don't carve the cedar..the cedar carves you! It almost ended up in the fire multiple times...It taught me patience, fru...stration, it taught me to be safely productive when I was angry or frustrated. It taught me to let go of perfectionism and to slow down because rushing to completion results in broken pieces and frustration. It taught me it was ok to walk away for a time and then to come back. It taught me that I have more to learn about symmetry and balance...but it's ok because it's a process of learning. We learn and we evolve if we are persistent. This wood spirit speaks that amongst the flames if we are grounded in love we will rise stay grounded people...we will get through this " out of the ashes" www.cedarphoenix.ca
