Elizabeth Fry Society Simcoe Muskoka continues to work diligently to provide access to services during COVID19. The Society has been able to adapt quickly to th...is ever evolving situation thanks to our new Executive Director, Meaghan Chambers. Meaghan has a passion for social justice issues, particularly those affecting marginalized and criminalized women and youth in our community. Thanks to Meaghan’s passion and tireless efforts, all 25 residents of Elizabeth Fry Society Simcoe Muskoka’s shelter have been safely relocated to a hotel in Barrie. This move has allowed for the most vulnerable within our community to have the opportunity to practice social distancing and social isolation as recommended by public health officials. This unique situation brings unique challenges; please consider our most vulnerable, who have no home to isolate in and no family to help them at a time of need. Elizabeth Fry Society Simcoe Muskoka could use your help by donating nonperishable food items, fresh fruits and vegetables, toiletries, and breads. We are prepping healthy lunch meals for those that do not have access to make meals and transporting the food individually wrapped to the hotel for clients of Elizabeth Fry and David Busby. Donations will help the Society continue to support and keep the most vulnerable within our community safe. Donations can be dropped off at out office location of 102 Maple Ave, Barrie.
