Canadian Celiac Association British Columbia 25.11.2020

Thanks to this year's sponsors in the Scotiabank Charity Challenge, our fundraisers received a fabulous set of coupons for all of their efforts, and top fundraisers received additional prize packs. These corporate partners help us go the extra mile when rallying our team for the Scotia Run, and we owe them a great deal of gratitude for their support of our Chapter of the CCA.

We did it! We hit our fundraising goal in the Scotiabank Charity Challenge! Thank you so much to everyone who joined our team, fundraised, donated, and sponsored this event. We weren't sure what to expect this year due to COVID-19. But our community came together to show their support, and we are beyond grateful! Our hope is that by next year, we can see you all again in person for a much deserved celebration. In the meantime, we wish you continued health and safety with your loved ones. Thank you again! https://raceroster.com//2020-scotiabank/pledge/team/222471

Health Canada has issued the following alert to people with celiac disease or gluten disorders. This is in response to our concerns over food service products originally destined for the United States being potentially sold in Canada. Our advice is to look for larger sized items with English only labels or with added label. Manufacturers have been notified to be in compliance with priority allergen labelling and this notice is a precuationary step in case of missed labelling. https://www.canada.ca//gluten-relate/notice-canadians.html

We are so thankful for the official proclamations we received from the Province of British Columbia and municipalities across the Lower Mainland in recognition of Celiac Awareness Month and Celiac Awareness Day on May 16th. Celiac disease affects the lives of individuals and families on a daily basis, and too many Canadians continue to suffer from symptoms without a diagnosis. The more we can increase awareness in our communities, the more we can improve the quality of life for those affected and raise the needed funds for celiac disease research. Thank you to everyone for your support this month!
