CENTAUR ENTERPRISES LTD IS LOOKING FOR A LEAD CARPENTER. 1. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Studies blueprints, sketches, or building plans for information pertaining to type of material required.... Selects specified type of lumber or other materials. Prepares layout. Marks cutting and assembly lines on materials. Shapes materials to prescribed measurements. Assembles cut and shaped materials and fastens them together. Verifies trueness of structure with plumb bob or carpenter’s level. Erects framework for structures Able to assemble and construct any structure/assembly as per blueprints/drawings Erects scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level. Other duties as assigned. 2. AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Establish good working relationship with other team members. Foster positive communications and relationships with CENTAUR ENTERPRISES LTD clients and sub-contractors. Keep up to date on industry trends and developments. Adhere to company policies and procedures. Actively participate in meetings as requested. 3. QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma required. College/University degree or Red Seal certification is an asset. Five years of experience working in the construction industry. Able to operate computers/tablets, basic mobile phone apps and email. Knowledge of commercial and multi-family construction techniques, tools and equipment. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence and reports Ability to apply common sense and to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to multi task and work under tight deadlines. 4. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Frequent standing, walking, driving and sitting. Frequent lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds. Occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
