Do you have a theatre love story? Here's one for this Valentines week #TBT to February 2011, when Sylvain invited Ùna to Centaur’s production of Stones in his Pockets as a first date. 10 years later, Centaur is happy to report the couple’s first date led to many more. Congratulations Sylvain and Ùna on your upcoming 10th anniversary (and your 3 children!) ... Everyone at Centaur is honoured to discover that you began your wonderful romantic adventure at a performance of Stones in his Pockets says CENTAUR Artistic & Executive Director, Eda Holmes. Stones in his Pockets by Marie Jones was directed by Andrew Shaver (MOB, TRAD) and starred Daniel Brochu (Alice and the World We Live in, Last Night at the Gayety) and Kyle Gatehouse. (Haunted Hillbilly). #theatrelovestory #TBT #valentines #theatreromance

Imago Theatre’s Eco-anxiety digital festival is back due to popular demand! From February 5 - 14 each play will be available to rent individually, or as a package of all four. The festival features four short plays written by award-winning international playwrights and showcases the work of 12 Montreal artists. At times funny, at times moving, all four plays use different storytelling techniques as they explore the realities of the global climate crisis. Visit imagotheatre.ca/ecoanxiety for more information about the plays and the festival!

Last year’s Wildside production of Michelle Sweeney’s Her Songs My Story brought down the house with the songs of Aretha Franklin. Coming Saturday Salons @ Centaur Nov 21st at 2PM featuring AD Eda Holmes and guests Emilie Monnet & Jessica Carmichael on Facebook Live/YouTube/centaurtheatre.com. Two plays programmed for this season would have shone a light on Indigenous artists: Emilie Monnet’s play, Okinum, was our Brave New Looks selection to be presented with Imago Theatre, and Jessica Carmichael was slated to direct The Flick by Annie Baker. Between them, these two women have years of experience working with activist and creative groups to encourage Indigenous artists and projects into the limelight. Talking candidly with Eda, they will share the challenges that Indigenous artists face, and speak to the importance for all of us Turtle Island dwellers, to make room for these voices and their stories.
