From Centennial and Beyond! When Amira started preschool at Centennial Infant and Child Centre, her language and social skills were over a year behind that of her peers. Amira went from CICC to an intensive autism specific early intervention program for two years, to a small private school with low teacher-to-student ratios for two years, and then attended her local public school for grade one without support. Since that time, she has remained in public school, without any di...rect support, fully integrated into a typical classroom. Just three years later, her language skills have risen to that of her peers, and as of today, she is thriving academically and has developed many peer relationships.
