2 condo Bird Houses I made for a special someone

This is an older home that we traced back to 1939. Although the home was maintained it was never really updated.. We started with the bathroom. Which was outdated with small blue tiles and after taking it apart we discovered it had 4 layers of flooring and 3 layers of drywall. Underneath the drywall was lath and plaster which deteriorated over the years so we removed all the plaster and started fresh with new drywall After doing a complete gut of the bathroom we decided new w...indows was next. When removing the old windows we found wood rot and no insulation in the walls, One by one we replaced each window as we went fixing the wood rot. Then we decided that we would insulate the outside of the home so that over the winter we would have some sort of warmth. We installed Ridgid foam insulation on the outside of the home. We then went to check out the attic to discover that there was insulation 1 Bag someone had placed up there unopened. because it was hard to enter the attic we chose to blow in insulation from the exterior to increase the insulation value in the attic. We also built a fence around the back perimeter of the property enclosing in the yard space to keep the dogs in yard and expand the parking area as well. Once the spring comes we will complete the outside of the home with James Hardie fiber cement siding. We then continued with inside renos. In the living room was pink shag carpet. This carpet was in like new condition being very clean but outdated by age. We removed the carpet and installed new waterproof vinyl laminate as well as gave it a fresh paint job. There was a patio door going from the living room to the extended addition area. We replaced the patio door, insulated and drywalled the addition area replacing windows in and doors in there and updating the lighting as well. Eventually we will install new flooring in this area as well. In the spare bedroom we added a fresh coat of paint, new window, and new vinyl flooring. The kitchen area had been somewhat updated. We added a fresh coat of paint, removed the old kitchen fan and installed a new one, added new lights and installed new backsplash. The master bedroom had an old closet that was falling apart. We removed the closet and built a new one, removed 2 windows, covered one up and installed a new one in the other, and a fresh paint job. The front entrance area had a large landing, We decided to bring the laundry from the basement to upstairs for easy access so we used part of the area where there use to be a dishwasher for the new laundry area. We also removed old carpet from entrance and installed new waterproof laminate flooring. The garage had a small finished room in the back of it that was insulated and osb. We went in and completed insulating the entire garage, installed osb, new lights, and 2 new garage doors. We left the small room in the back original to use as a workspace.

This home owner was looking for a COMPLETE makeover. We removed the white windows and doors and replaced them all with Black windows and doors. We also replaced 3 windows in the front with one large window. There was wood rot around some of the windows and doors which we fixed and replaced before installing the new windows and sealing them up. We removed the old vinyl siding wrapped the house in house wrap and installed new James Hardie siding. Board and Batten on the house a...n lap siding around the bottom part, We also installed Hardie fascia. We removed the old shingles and installed a new steel roof to last a life time including ice stops to protect from snow falling over the doors. The customer also wanted a new deck and screened in porch. We removed the old decks, built a wrap around deck with composite decking. Extended the front roof out 16 ft and built a new screened in porch. The customer had a vision of how she wanted her home and was extremely happy we were able to fulfill that dream for her.
