Ok so to put an end to my email and phone blowing up please have a read in response to Central Alberta Raceways being able to run events with approval from AHS.... Ok so I've been asked the same question 1000 times over the last week..."If the track is allowed to run why no derby that's stupid!?" What people are not understanding is that the events being allowed to run are with limited competitors and no audience allowed in the stands, and for shows like the derby where the p...rize payouts come from sponsors and mainly the gate fees from the crowd this is not achievable! With small buisness struggling to keep doors open and not being allowed to have an audience where will the money come from? Hence why my show will not happen in May. I know alot of folks are upset and so am I but keep in mind I work my backside off to put this show on we all do and would run it in a heartbeat if we could! Well folks this has been the hardest few weeks of my life to come to this decision... due to the complications with all of this Covid 19 craziness and the public bans we unfortunately feel it is best to cancel the 2020 Central Alberta Raceways Demolition Derby that was scheduled for May 30th. We had high hopes to stay on track with our plans but after countless emails and phone calls with Alberta Health and other promoters we feel it's our only option at this point. So with s...addened hearts we wish to thank everyone for their efforts to get cars built to put on an awesome show, we'd like to also thank our sponsors that held our positivity that things would get better. Without the fans, crowd, competitors and sponsors we would not have a show so we cannot thank you all enough and we hope to see you all in the future! Heres looking up for 2021! NEWBIES TO DERBY OR SEASONED DRIVERS HAVE A READ!!!! Ok boys and girls here's the start of an awesome "waffle" in support of the Veterans Association Food Bank! Huge thanks to all of the folks that have been helping us out with this car to make it a hard runner! So here is how it's gonna work... with a donation of $25 a spot (you can donate as many as you want) you will get a free entry for every $25 donation, 1 week from the show we will draw names for the prizes and please ...if you have a prize you'd like to donate to help raise money for this amazing cause please let me know! But please keep in mind its not just about the prizes this money helps some amazing folks that laid their lives on the line for our freedoms! Well we are booked for 2020!! May 30th 2020 to be exact... with our rule changes (warburg) which allows for a bit more heavier more exciting build and some new and exciting things we are looking forward to a bigger better show! Well folks as we announced earlier we are swapping out fullsize car build rules to a common set run by most Alberta shows, keep in mind or previous build will still be competitive but these new rules allow for a little more repair and build...ALL DRIVERS MUST HOLD A VALID DRIVERS LICENSE! they will be checked and if you cant produce one you will load back up and enjoy the show from the stands!
