Covid-19 update: Office Reopening on May 14th, 2020 We hope this update finds you and your family safe and healthy! The Alberta Dental Regulatory body has released guidelines for dental office reopening. Central Orthodontics is pleased to inform you we have met and exceeded the new guidelines and have been given the green light for reopening on May 14th, 2020 as part of the Stage 1 of Alberta’s Relaunch Strategy.... When you visit our office next time, you will see some changes which include new Plexiglas in the reception and consultation areas, hand sanitizers, tape marking on the floor as a reminder for social distancing. The magazines and coffee have been temporarily removed and the kids-gaming stations closed to reduce physical contact in the office to enhance your safety. You may see more disinfecting and wiping of counter tops and door handles. In the clinical area, you will see proper protective equipment and infection control protocols in place to ensure your safety. Your appointment will be managed to allow social distancing between patients. We will be in contact with you to schedule your appointment. Covid 19 Update Alberta's Relaunch Strategy To Our Valued Central Orthodontics Patients and Families: We want you to know we are thinking of all of you during this time. We at Central Orthodontics know this has been such a difficult and trying time for everyone who are in dental braces / Invisalign treatment while dental office is mandated to be closed due to the pandemic. ... We want to express our gratitude to you and our valued patient community and provide CLARITY on dental office reopening as part of the Alberta's Relaunch Strategy proposed by Alberta Premier Jason Kenny. On Thursday, April 30th, 2020, Alberta Premier, Jason Kenny announced as part of the Alberta's Relaunch Strategy, dental offices may reopen on Monday, May 4th, 2020, but pending guideline approval from the dental regulatory body. Currently, these guidelines are under development by the dental regulatory body and would be released as soon as possible. The guidelines may include changes to Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), how appointments are scheduled to reflect the number of people that can be at the office in a given time, in order to keep you and our staff safe. In the mean time, Central Orthodontics will continue to treat dental braces emergencies that may arise. Update to our valued parents and patients On Friday, March 27th, 2020, the Alberta Provincial Government mandated new protocols in addressing the evolving Covid-19 pandemic. One of the new mandates involves temporary closure of non-critical health services which includes dentistry, to flatten the curve. Therefore, all routine / elective dental-braces cares are to be postponed until further government notice. Central Orthodontics Service Announcement: COVID-19 As of Sunday, March 15th, 2020, the City of Calgary has announced a local state of emergency due to the coronavirus pandemic. Following the guidance of the government and public health authorities, for the health and safety of all patients and their families, the staff at Central Orthodontics, and the community at large, we have decided to temporarily suspend all non-emergent orthodontic services, for a period of two weeks ...from March 18th, 2020 to April 1st, 2020. We will continue to monitor the situation and update you as it evolves. The office will be open to take care of orthodontic emergency concerns. We understand that this may create an inconvenience for our patients and their families and also how disappointing this will be for those who were scheduled to have their braces started or removed. However, we feel strongly that this is the best decision we can make at this time. By temporarily suspending all non-emergent orthodontic services, we will stop consuming the essential personal protective equipment and sanitization supplies that are running in critically short supply at hospitals across Canada. COVID-19 Update: We at Central Orthodontics consider your health and safety our top priority. We understand the concern and uncertainty you may be experiencing surrounding the coronavirus (COVID-19) and are committed to being responsive to the needs of our patients as the situation evolves. We want to assure you that we are taking steps towards keeping our office a safe place for you to visit: 1) We have encouraged anyone on our staff feeling ill to stay home.... 2) We have always encouraged patients to reschedule their appointments when feeling under the weather, running a temperature or showing symptoms of being contagious. That is more important now than ever. 3) We always strictly follow all Alberta Dental Association and College guidelines for sterilization and cleanliness of our office and we have taken extra steps to educate our team on the importance of staying healthy. 4) We have coached our team on how small habits like touching their face, nose and eyes require attention to break those habits. 5) Hand washing frequency has been ramped up in our office. 6) We are wiping down all counters, keyboards, office areas, and high touch areas throughout the day. For the time being, our office hours are not changing. We promise to remain vigilant to staying informed and doing our part in keeping you and your family safe and a great place for dental braces.
