In accordance with the Pandemic Response Level set to Code Red, please note the following: - We will remain open with reduced operating hours: Monday-Friday 7:00am-6:30pm, and will remain open 9:00am-5:00pm Saturdays. - Drop off and pick up for daycare and grooming dogs will be curbside as per usual. ... - There will be absolutely NO entry inside the building aside from staff members. All retail, including dog food will be curb side pick up. - Whenever possible, for your safety and ours, online payments, or over the phone payments are preferred. All daycare dogs are required to have a card on file. If you do not have an online card option we are now currently accepting e-transfer as well. We will keep you updated to any further changes. Dear clients, please expect delays from Monday to Thursday this week as there will be a dig around the back of our building, set to commence for a foundation repair. Please bring your pup through the front door, call for entry and keep social distancing in mind. It is preference that you call while still in your vehicle so we can have the door ready, and open by the time you get the front to avoid any idling on Portage street (for safety reasons). We will put a slip lead over your dog inside, and you can take your leashes home with you as usual. Please check that all collars are fitted appropriately and carry smaller dogs in. NOW SELLING RAW DOG FOOD AT CENTRAL BARK! Here are some FAQs for those who are not familiar with raw feeding! Why feed your pets raw? Raw food, meat diet: the desire to give our pets the most biologically nutritious and metabolically absorbable diet they can have.... Raw food is a method of returning pets to their evolutionary diet. Processed pet food has only been in existence for around 100 years. Since humans have been keeping companion animals for thousands of years, processed pet food is a very new option. Feeding your pet fresh raw food was once common practice. Whats wrong with kibble and dry foods? Kibble and dry foods do work with some pets, but as with modern humans, a lot of modern pets have developed food allergies and sensitivities that lead to other forms of illness. Raw food allows you to bring your pet back to its basic biologically accurate diet so you can eliminate and determine exactly what the problem is, or stay raw and offer them optimal health. Is raw food really great for my pet? Yes! Raw food: Promotes better health for a longer and happier life. Pets on raw experience less food-related and allergy problems. Raw food offers the full nutrition and digestive enzymes pets need, with vitamins and minerals supplied naturally without processed additives. Chewing chicken and turkey necks, chicken carcasses and other raw bones is good for cleaning teeth and satisfying dogs natural urge to chew. Single-source protein makes it easy to do an elimination diet to determine allergies. Frozen raw food eliminates the need for preservatives, which are needed in all dry foods, and cooking, which destroys some of the naturally occurring vitamins and minerals. Im interested, how do I do it? Some believe in transitioning their animal slowly over to raw to prevent any system shock from the major change from kibble to raw. It is really on a case by case basis, the majority of animals should be able to just switch over while others may require a transition period. Owners need to monitor their pets condition, activity level, and general well being to get the amounts correct for their individual animal. Generally, mature dogs should be fed about 2% of their ideal body weight and puppies about 5%. We will be giving more $$ back for in-store credit than cash. Please remember to thoroughly wash your tanks or enclosures. For tanks, we recommend taking the following steps: - For stubborn residue or algae on glass, use a razor blade to scrape it off. If your aquarium is acrylic, use ...a plastic razor blade, as standard razors will scratch the acrylic. - Prepare a 10 percent bleach solution and soak the items for 15 minutes. Scrub any remaining residue off, rinse well in running water, and let air-dry to eliminate residual bleach. For kennels, beds, or other items. Thoroughly wash with hot water. If you are going to use a cleaning product on the item, make sure to thoroughly rinse it so there are no harmful left over disinfectants left on the item. Vinegar is a safer alternative to bleach, however be sure there is no strong odour left on the item from the vinegar & the item is thoroughly rinsed. We cannot promise that we will trade or buy your item. Please understand that it has to be something that is in demand or that we can resell.
