Virtual Storytime and Crafts Storytime's are great opportunities to strengthen literacy skills in children, and crafts help refine motor skills, expand creativity, and work on basic literacy building blocks necessary for a jump start in life. Don't let the distance keep us apart - join us for regular virtual Storytime's and crafts, and let's connect and grow together!... https://chinooklibrary.ca/virtualstorytime

It’s Family Literacy Week in Saskatchewan! The Government of Saskatchewan has proclaimed Family Literacy Day in Saskatchewan (January 27) and Family Literacy Week in Saskatchewan (January 24 to 30). You can download the proclamations to use at your own event! This year’s theme, Travel the World Together, encourages us to explore the world with our imaginations! This year, we are very pleased to collaborate with the Family Literacy Hubs of Saskatchewan and the Government of... Saskatchewan on a provincial event! Saskatchewan author Ruth Wellborn will read her book, Never Rub Noses with a Narwhal, and she will help us ‘travel’ to the Arctic with stories and facts about the north of our continent. Wednesday, January 27th at 10:30am (9:30am in Lloydminster) Free! For more information and the link to the livestream, visit http://saskliteracy.ca/narwhal There are more events planned all around the province (all are virtual or COVID-19 safe). Check with the Family Literacy Hub in your area, your local library or school, and more for events. For a list of events hosted by Family Literacy Hubs and community partners, visit http://saskliteracy.ca/FamilyLiteracyDay Since ABC Life Literacy Canada started Family Literacy Day in 1999, we have worked together to raise awareness of the importance of reading and engaging in other literacy-related activities as a family. If you haven’t already, take a few minutes and register your Family Literacy Day event with ABC Life Literacy Canada. If you have questions, or would like support for your event, please contact us. https://saskliteracy.ca/contact/
