[ consistent ] We may not have some of the same mountain top experiences, but we’re still seeking a movement. Two more weeks of youth before Christmas! Check with your leaders or DM us to find out what we’ve got in store.

[ studio ] This new room is a key part of our strategy in seeking a movement of God. From this room, we resource students, leaders, families, and (most recently) youth workers around North America.... We want to plant seeds of revival everywhere we go for the glory of God and the flourishing of our city and the world. Family Update coming your way TOMORROW. [ steady ] We know you’re disappointed about what’s happening right now. We are, too. But we’ve been ready for this moment for months.... And we’re STILL creatively seeking a movement of God. In the last week ALONE, we have finished a food drive, baked together, played Among Us, gone on walks, watched The Chosen, studied Scripture, dropped off cookies, celebrated a birthday with balloons, prayed together, played instruments, and MORE. God is still at work. He’s connecting us and drawing us closer to Him. May His kingdom come and His will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Your leaders will be reaching out to let you know their plans this week! DM us if you don’t hear anything.

[ resilient ] In response to the announcements made by our government today, CHC Youth will be suspending all in-person gatherings until further notice. Although this is an unfortunate change, nothing has ever changed about our mission or our God. ... We see the exhaustion, stress, and anxiety you are experiencing. We see the same thing in the lives of those who don’t call CHC Youth home. The pandemic is difficult. The spectrum of opinion and response is tiring. The strain of discouragement and loneliness is debilitating. And Jesus loves you. You really really matter to him. And you matter to us. Take up the encouragement and the challenge to prioritize what the Holy Spirit says to us: Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else. Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5:15-18)

[ now what? ] This night was one for the ages. It set the tone for a year about to be marked by incredible experiences, deep connections, and seeking a movement of God. Then, COVID-19 reared its familiar face. What’s the plan now? ... Right now, we pause. We rest. We breathe. For the week of November 8-14, all CHC Youth activities are postponed. But stay connected! Reach out to your group chats. Check in on each other. Spend time praying for God to move in the lives of those around you. Next week, we modify. Your leaders will reach out with initiatives that are personalized to your LifeGroup. If you would like to get connected, send us a DM. God’s not done working. His Spirit doesn’t stop because of a global pandemic. Consider Paul’s words in 1 Corinthians 2:3-5 when he talks about how the reality of Jesus became a movement: I came to you in weakness with great fear and trembling. My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power. May this be true today. May we witness a demonstration of the Spirit’s power. May we see a movement of God.

[ team ] These people. These passionate, fun, Jesus-loving people.... These people have sacrificed things that are good for the things that are best. These people regularly give up their schedules, their own comfort, and sometimes their own dignity to seek a movement of God among students. These people push through a season of difficulty. These people would love to hear your words of encouragement. Who do you want to encourage? [ youth in the city ] A new era. Every other week, our students and leaders get out of the building for "Youth in the City."... We're going beyond Thursday nights. We aren't restricting our faith to a two hour time slot at the church. We're positioning ourselves for a movement all 168 hours of the week. We're in coffee shops, parks, front porches, and online. (Among Us, anyone?) We're constantly connecting and constantly growing. We're radically prioritizing prayer. (Stay tuned for huge updates.) We're serving the needs of our city.
