A big thank you to the person who bought my breakfast for me at Tim Hortons drive-through this morning. Don't know who it was but that was very nice of you!

Are the screen hinges on your lap-toppy a little bit floppy? Is your MacBook display turning into a slack-book display? We have been repairing a lot of failing and outright broken laptop screen hinges lately. If the screen on your laptop is "floppy" when you open it, we can fix that. Sometimes,, the screws that secure the hinges can come loose. Usually with a MacBook I can just tighten up the screws that secure the hinges to the body and the problem is solved easily and quick...ly. Usually for $20+tax. On other brands, most notably Acer, the plastic mounts that hold the brass nut (the part that the hinge screws go into on the inside/back of the screen) simply break into many small pieces and then the screen won't open or close properly. To repair this I have to rebuild the hinge mounts with epoxy and clamp it all together for 12 hours until the epoxy hardens. This usually cost 1.5 - 2 hours of labour @ $80/hr+tax. I have done this repair countless times and it turns out great...but If you address this problem when it starts, it is quite easy and inexpensive to repair. To prevent this from happening in the first place, I recommend that you ALWAYS open and close your laptop screen by gripping it in the center/middle and NOT by a corner of the screen. When you do that, you put torsion on the whole display assembly and it can weaken it .
