Happy #NationalVolunteerWeek! This year’s theme is about compassion to one another and the joining of forces to make a positive impact. Even through a pandemic many of our volunteers have stayed on the frontlines with us, others have found creative ways to give back behind the scenes and several new members have joined our team. We appreciate you today and every day. Please help us this week we celebrate our volunteers, who without them our community members would not have the available resources to call on.

We are celebrating providing Centertown residents wit h over 20,000 meals during the pandemic today. On the menu we have eggplant lasagna, roast beef and Yorkshire pudding with mushroom peppercorn sauce, garlic mashed potatos, lemon garlic broccoli, maple balsamic brussels sprouts, stacked toffee pudding cake.

Did you know that at least 2,500 households in Ottawa are at risk of eviction because they haven’t been able to pay their rent during the pandemic? With no affordable housing options available, this is a #HousingEmergency. We call on the Ontario government to ban evictions for those unable to pay rent.
