His admirable clay... sculptures have sentimental significance and are filled with metaphors and symbolism. It is clear why Evan won the ‘Leslie Potter Award for Excellence in Sculpture’ as he spends many hours creating his intriguing, fascinating and intricate work. Here's my homemade bat system. I have been using hardiboard cut to a 6" square. Now I'm making bisque tiles with a relief so the bottom of my piece has some add...ed interest. (The design on the tile should be positive so that the impression on the bottom is negative. And don't forget about clay shrinkage) Also, pieces pop off the tiles easily/cleanly so I can avoid trimming. See more
