Well damn. . This is a tough day, am I right? I typically try to tell myself it could always be worse when I find my fears and anxiety rising. However, today that just does not seem to be cutting it . Having to close our doors again, during what would normally be our busiest month is pretty awful. I’ve been trying to run things behind the scenes and thought I could take this opportunity to work on all of those things that I never have time for!... . But now the announcements that schools are staying closed I mean, I get it! Covid numbers are out of control, and health is first priority. But that doesn’t make it any easier to continue to adapt to this challenging world. . So, while I sit here drinking my 7th cup of coffee, bouncing around trying to assist with virtual learning and work on the sidelines, I just wanted to say... . Kudos to the parents out there! Trying to do it all during one of the most challenging times in history. . I’m also thinking of teachers who have to try to engage 3-6 year olds virtually for the entire day . Recognizing, of course, front line workers who are put in harm’s way every day and WISH they had the option to work from home and keep their kids home . People who are out of work, struggling to pay the bills, having to make life altering decisions to stay afloat . And of course we can’t help but worry about the kids who will likely be paying for this pandemic for many, many years to come . Finally, keep in mind that people are actually dying, or getting very very sick from this disease. We have all seen the pleas from doctors and nurses across the globe, and shockingly, the situation is just getting worse, with hospital beds diminishing daily. I often think what it would be like if my daughter was diagnosed now instead of back in 2018 . As the cherry on top of it all, the mess in the USA just makes us all want to give up hope, am I right?! But we can’t. We have to keep pushing and lead with kindness, because although some of our problems may be first world - they are still OUR problems and we no longer have our village. I know I miss my village and finally realize how important it is to have one See more

out 2020! . As a business, 2021 doesn’t seem to be off to a great start either, but as a business owner, I feel more prepared for this lockdown. I was able to see it coming, and brace myself accordingly (as much as possible ). . 2020 wasn’t all bad - I saw some amazing brides able to go through with their weddings, and marry the loves of their lives despite the change in celebration ... . We made it through as a business, which is something to celebrate, seeing as so many small businesses in Canada had to close their doors for good (thinking of you all) . Due to lockdown I spent a lot more time with my littles than I normally would have - which at first seemed VERY challenging, but I embraced it, and we had so much fun and created so many memories . The days are long my friends, but the years are short. I hope you all take this time to dig deep on what really matters and what you truly love to do . This pretty much sums up how I feel right now . Today I somehow (seriously, no idea how) won the Further Faster Grand Pitch Competition presented by @gchbec !!! . Let me tell you, the competition was fierce!
