Exciting announcement - new service coming this fall. Can anyone guess what it might be?

If you've called our office recently, you may have heard on our voicemail that we ask all customers to please email in their requests to [email protected]. Our phone lines are swamped, and it's taking us longer than normal to get back to our customers. While we are a business that operates year round, many issues are seasonal, and we are currently in our busiest month of the year. Add to this the fact that we are a small family run business, and we are operating throug...h a pandemic. All of our technicians and office staff have children at home, and we are navigating through without school or daycare. We understand that everyone wants their issues resolved quickly, but please be understanding that things are not business as usual right now, and we are all doing our best. Thank you to all of our amazing customers!

We at Certified Pest Control are very grateful that we have been able to continue to operate with the current restrictions. We know that not everyone is in the same boat, and many families are suffering right now and having a hard time paying their bills. We are hearing that customers are not having their pest control issues addressed because they just don't have money in the budget. To help give back, we would like to offer a free service to two families who need support. ... Please pass this message along to any families you may know of who are having pest control issues that they can't afford to address at the moment. Families can send us a message about the details of their issue, and their general location. Families must reside in Durham Region or Northumberland and must be available for service the last week of May. We will do our best to help with whatever the issue may be, however not all of our technicians have the same licenses, so we may have to pick and choose based on location and staff availability.

This time of year, we get a lot of questions about relocating wildlife. In the province of Ontario, it is illegal to relocate wildlife more than 1km from the location they were trapped. For most roaming wildlife, moving animals this distance will only end up with them back on your property. At Certified Pest Control, we have a few options to deal with nuisance wildlife. We offer humane, exclusion methods, which are helpful if a nuisance animal has gained entry into your ho...me or attic. This includes methods to remove mom and babies together. For more persistent animals, or for homes where wildlife continues to create new entry points, we also offer PERMANENT removal of wildlife from your property. Certified Pest Control has a trapper on staff, licensed through the Ontario Fur Managers Federation. Only licensed trappers are able to offer permanent removal of certain animals. Meet Bally, one of our newest "employees" on her way home from her first job. Bally is still in training, but she has a great teacher, Monty. Certified Pest Control now has two full-time ratters on staff. Monty and Bally are rat terriers. Hunting rats is what they were born to do. Lucky for us, instead of a paycheck, they're happy to receive a pat on the head for a job well done. Using canines for pest control is not new. Farmers have done this for ages, before poison wa...s ever an option. Why do we use them? For customers who are not comfortable with using poison for their rodent issues. For properties where the numbers are high and need an immediate reduction. We also use them in more traditional jobs to help us determine where rodents may be getting in, or nesting so that we know the best place to focus our efforts. Monty has found hiding spots we never would have on our own. We've even used Monty for customers who have had a squirrel get into their home, and they couldn't find it to get it back out. These rodents can't escape the nose on these dogs. Pest Control Technicians take their responsibility to our customers very seriously. Our job is to keep rodents, wildlife, insects, etc. out of people's homes and businesses and therefore limiting their opportunity to spread disease and bacteria. In addition to our wonderful residential customers, we also service food processing fa...cilities, restaurants which are still delivering, and many other businesses which are still operating.
