Starting March 1, Alberta parents who use childcare can apply to receive $561 per child with the new Working Parents Benefit. This is a one-time payment to help parents with the cost of child care, including licensed or unlicensed daycare, day homes, out-of-school care, or preschool. Families will be eligible to apply for the Working Parents Benefit if they have: - Children in any form of child care, including licensed or unlicensed child care. - A household annual income of ...$100,000 or less. - Paid for three months of child care between April 1 and Dec. 31, 2020 (must provide receipts). Families will have until the end of March to apply. The Working Parents Benefit is part of Alberta’s plan to protect both lives and livelihoods with concrete action to help families offset the cost of child care. Temporary program changes to the Canada-Alberta Job Grant that will make it accessible to more. The following program changes expand eligibility to help businesses access the training they need. These temporary changes are effective from February 18, 2021 until February 28, 2022. Expanded eligibility includes:... 1. Funding mandatory training - Use the CAJG to fund courses or training that is required for a job. 2. Allowing employers to train employed family members - Enables family-owned businesses to access training funds. 3.
