We love that we are able to watch the zamboni work! 3-year-olds can be great helpers at shoveling the snow and we measured that we got "20/40" ? Meteors of new snow!

To ensure the health and safety of our families, clients, and employees, we have decided to close the CFEC and all CFEC buildings (this includes the Raven Youth... Activity Centre and CFEC Early Care and Learning Centre). We will reassess the situation on a weekly basis. Please visit the Interior Health website (www.interiorhealth.ca) for updates regarding COVID-19. See more
Thank you to the local police department for giving us time to tour the new building. We had so much fun riding the transit bus there and back and being able to wander through the different areas of the building. What a great day for learning.
Had a great trip to the library last month to help break up the day as it was too cold outside to play. Thank you to the local library for the great space for us to enjoy books.
Love when a friend helps another in need, without prompting
So busy the last few weeks! When the weather was too cold we got busy inside with activities to brighten our day.
The 3-5 program went on a fall scavenger hunt today! It was a big walk and they did great! The only thing on our list that we couldn't find was a cat!
Happy Halloween!! Reminder that tomorrow is pajama day!
Moments like these that we happen across make our hearts swell. Encouraging kindness, empathy and helping others. Knowing that the social skills are developing!
Well I can’t believe that summer has now come to an end. Here are some highlights of the last couple of months
We have been so fortunate to have been donated some yard materials from some local companies. We are all enjoying our yards this summer. Thank you Telus, Sanders Redi-Mix, United Concrete and the wonder families who have helped.
Thank you to our local Safeway for their generous donation towards our preschool graduation/year end family bbq!

Well April was full of wonder at the centre! All the programs got to see the life cycle of a butterfly unfold right before their eyes. We started with 10 larva. We watched as they grew into very large caterpillars and next into their own chrysalis'. After about 10 days all 10 butterflies began to emerge from their chrysalis and dry their wings inside the mesh home we had for them. Once all were developed and had a few days to rest we went on a walk with the children to our local park and released them. The staff and children had so much fun learning through this wonderful experience.
To do our part in protecting our earth, the 3-5 program did a great job in cleaning up garbage in the field beside us. With a great discussion after leaning to play duck, duck, goose!
What a wonderful world of rainbows!
We love spring! Yesterday was a great day to go on an exploration to look for a rainbow! We didn't find one, but we found different things that had a rainbow colour.
We've been learning about healthy eating and making yummy treats for the last week!
This has been perfect timing to talk about germs and handwashing this week with new tummy bugs showing up...thank you to one of our families for the thoughtful "I'm sorry" card! It gave the staff a great chuckle!
