One of our faculty members likes to bring yarn to meetings, when they can. It turns out that it could qualify as good self care!
Our big interview days are coming up this month! We've all been preparing to welcome our interviewees, get to know each other, and have important conversations that will lead to choosing our 2016-2017 incoming cohort. Meanwhile we continue to make important updates to our Centre! Things are always growing and changing.
Exciting news! We have received program recognition for the Couple and Family Therapy (MSc program) from the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. This is a reflection of a team effort on the part of many faculty, staff, and others and the success is a tribute to that collaborative effort. Yay team!!!

Shared from the the paTio: Exciting news! Trans Health Clinic opening in Guelph! The paTio group is thrilled to announce that we have partnered with ARCH (HIV/AIDS Resources & Community Health) to create dedicated trans healthcare clinic hours at the ARCH clinic on Dawson Road in Guelph. They will be providing primary health care including addressing general health needs as well as trans specific care such as access to hormones and pre and post surgery care. The clinic will b...e operating using an informed consent model which means you do not need a referral by a medical doctor or a mental health professional to access their services or access hormones. ARCH clinic staff are accessing training in the specifics of trans health care and the ARCH clinic operates within an anti-oppression framework. They’ll be taking appointments beginning April 1st, more information to follow! Contact ARCH at [email protected] or 519-780-5298. Contact paTio at [email protected].
When we talk about depression it's important to remember that it isn't all about extremes. For many people experiencing depression, most of the time life happens in a middle ground that still requires struggle and energy.

In two of the six subjects (those who were treated earliest in the progression of their Alz) they were able to regrow most of the lost brain tissue!

Relationship advice is everywhere, for better or for worse. We're fans of the work done by Drs. Gottman, and this article does a great job presenting some of their important findings:
