It’s cold out there! This February, CFUW Milton, together with thousands of Canadians across the country, will be walking and fundraising to support people and families experiencing homelessness, hurt and hunger in our community. Join us as we support the Coldest Night of the Year initiative and help us raise awareness and funds to help our community. https://secure.e2rm.com/registrant/TeamFundraisingPage.aspx

Together we can raise awareness about the ongoing problem of gender-based violence by supporting survivors and taking action against sexism and racism. We are grateful to all CFUW members and community organizations that have organized vigils to commemorate the École Polytechnique massacre, sent letters to support gun control in Canada, and supported the 16 Days Campaign. #16Days #EndGBV #EndVAW

Incidents of sexual assault on school, college, and university campuses remain one of the most often reported types of violence. 41% of all reported sexual assaults in Canada were from students. Four out of five undergraduates at Canadian universities reported dating violence. Check out OUSA’s Courage to Act https://www.ousa.ca/blog_call_to_end_gbv #16Days #EndGBV #EndVAW #CourageToAct

Orange Shirt Day is observed on September 30th to remember the effects of Residential Schools and the resultant transgenerational trauma on Indigenous Peoples. Canadians can create bridges with each other to foster reconciliation. Survivors of Residential Schools need to be reassured that they matter, and there is hope for future generations of children. Please wear orange on Wednesday.
